 DETECTOR   Research  & Development
Since the early 60s our group has been investigating silicon detectors for nuclear spectroscopy and high-energy physics experiments. Our research covered both the manufacture of the detectors and the optimization of their performance. For the high-luminosity environments of contemporary and future high-energy physics experiments, degradation of the detectors by radiation damage has become a major issue. We have gained world expertise in this field by our ongoing studies on the microscopic properties of damage-induced defects and their impact on the operation of the detectors.

We are closely associated with the other parts of the working group  Particle Physics & Detector Development
